Selection pathway

Six steps.
One lasting journey.

Swiss Selects identifies outstanding young Swiss players and brings them to international competition. Here is how that happens, step by step.

  1. Play

    Play with your club, your cantonal selection or at an eligible Swiss Selects event. The pathway does not begin with a single mandatory event.

  2. Be seen

    Swiss Selects observes players in competitive environments across Switzerland through its hockey network, events and selection process.

  3. Get selected

    Selections are based on level, performance, team fit and the requirements of each event.

  4. Prepare

    Selected players come together as a team and prepare for the demands of international competition.

  5. Compete

    Take on an exceptional international tournament and test yourself against outstanding players from other hockey nations.

  6. Join the alumni community

    After the tournament, remain connected to Swiss Selects and become part of a growing community of players who shared the experience.

Selection criteria and availability vary by age group and tournament. Participation in an event does not guarantee selection.

Join the Talent Pool

Players interested in Swiss Selects tournaments must create their player account in the official World Hockey Group Talent Pool. This is the only application channel used for player interest and selection opportunities. Please do not send applications by email.

How can a player join Swiss Selects?

Create a player account in the official Swiss Selects Talent Pool. Swiss Selects can then observe players with their club, their cantonal selection, through its network or at eligible events.

Does taking part in an event guarantee selection?

No. Selection criteria and availability vary by age group and tournament, and participation in an event does not guarantee selection.

Are there opportunities beyond the elite WSI teams?

Yes. The wider World Hockey Group and Play Hockey network offers selected international experiences for different levels. These opportunities are communicated separately when available.
